Lightbulb E-mail Verification

When the user firstly registers his account on a site with your script, he has to verify his e-mails.

This is no problem if the e-mails are different (alertpay/paypal, personal).

The main problem is when the e-mails are the same:

You have to verify the same e-mail two times.

So I suggest checking if the AlertPay/Paypal and Personal e-mails are the same.
If they are, only 1 e-mail will be sent to the user to verify the e-mail.

(So you will have to verify it just one time)

Who agrees ?

well, if you ask me..

what would be the point in verifying a payment email?
if the email doesn't belong to you, then you most likely don't own the alertpay / paypal account and it would be the members loss to send funds else where

if it belongs to a friend, then its not difficult to have them verify the account for you...

ya get me?

You don't get it.

I am not talking about friends payment e-mails, I am talking about my own e-mails, which are the same = 2 verification messages sent to 1 e-mail...

you can edit your settings so that members only verify their email address and not their payment email address.

I dont find verifying the payment email as useful and dont know many PTC if any that use this option.

I am not a PTC admin, I am just a user...

And this option is used by most of the PTCs... Maybe it should be turned off as a default option..

@Silveros

Glad to know you are not an admin

For security issues it should be turned on by default.

Its the same as if you have the keys from your apartment would you let it unlock ?

thanks,
RobT

Seems u do not know what I wrote...

I accept having to verify your e-mail ONE time. But defaultly you have to verify THE SAME e-mail TWICE.

According to what you all write it is safer to let the user do the almost same action twice. What is safer about having to do one same thing twice?

Where do you find such setting? I don't want members verifying their payment emails. I only want them to verify the main account email.
